Objective: To promote the diagnostic comforming rate of pleomorphic adenoma and warthin tumor through the research on the evidence for ultrasonic diagnosis of the disease Methods: Through retrospective analysis of ultrasound imaging characteristics under 2D and CDFI, 22 patients were proved by operation and pathological method. They have been synthetically analyzed through volume, number, hardness and internal echoes of the tumor. Result: 12 cases pleomorpic adenoma,There were 6 cases with pleomorpic adenoma, 2 cases with lymph adenitis and 3 cases with pleomorphic mass of unkown origin. Fifty percent of the cases under ultrasonic diagnosis were comfirmed by pathologic findings.10 cases warthin tumors, There were 4 cases with warthin tumors, 3 cases w ith pleomorphic adenoma, 1 cases with lymph adenitis and 2 cases with pleomorphic mass of unkown origin. Forty percent of the cases under ultrasonic diagnosis were comfirmed by pathologic findings. In benign tumors, the comforming rate was.45.5% the sonographic characteristics of warthin tumor had some similar points to those of pleomorphic adenoma Conclusion: The typical pleomorphic adenoma has its sonographic characteristics, while the atypical one has something similar features as those of warthin tumor. We think that ultrasonic features of pleomorphic adenoma and warthin tumor have some clinical values for doctors to diagnoze and treat, but it is difficult to totally coincide with pathological diagnosis.
