Cherry tomato is a kind of typical climacteric fruit,which is extremely sensitive toethylene after harvest.1-Methylcyclopropene (1-MCP), an ethylene action inhibitor, has beenextensively studied in delaying ripening and senescence of tomato fruits. However, there arefew reports on how to optimize various influencing factors,or how to combine with otherfresh-keeping methods to achieve better fresh-keeping effects on cherry tomato fruits.This study condueted two aspects:(1) Orthogonal design was used to optimize the fresh-keeping condition of cherry tomato.Cherry Tomato Fruits of three varieties were used to investigate the best fresh-keepingcondition. The comprehensive index was obtained by way of fuzzy weight method. Dynamicchanges and Significant analysis were conducted upon that.(2) In order to explore the influence of the comprehensive fresh-keeping measures,cherry tomato fruits were studied by applying1-MCP(50nL/L,24h) combined with SA(soaked with SA at1.0mmol/l,5min). Fruit firmness, fruit colar, total soluble solids, weightloss,lycopene content,respiration rate, ethylene production rate, SOD content and PODcontent were measured at room tempreture.The following results were obtained by experiments and conclusions:(1) Results indicated that Optimum fresh-keeping condition was: variety"pink rose";maturity stage"pink-top"; concentration of1-MCP"50nl/L"and time"24h". Underthese conditions,the preservative effection of cherry tomatoes was best. It has been proved byconfirmatory tests that the result of orthogonal test was reasonable.(2) Significance analysis showed that treatment4was significantly better than othertreatments.(3) Compared with CK, all SA,1-MCP,1-MCP+SA treatment can delay senescence ofcherry tomato fruits. The effects of different treatments on fresh-keeping of tomatoes, fromhigh to low:1-MCP+SA treatment>1-MCP treatment>SA treatment.(4)1-MCP+SA treatment was most effective. It signifieantly reduced weight loss rate,postponed fimness and hue angle decreasing, delayed lycopene content increasing, inhibitedthe respiration intensity and ethylene production, and postponed the arrival of respiratoryclimacteric of cherry tomato fruits. In addition,1-MCP+SA treatment can greatly improve the cherry tomatoes' superoxide dismutase(SOD), peroxidase(POD) activity.
