In order to get a new kiwifruit line that is different from "Hong Yang" and "Wan Hong", the biological characteristic, fruit qualities and orchard yield of""H-red"","Hong Yang" and "Wan Hong" were studied. The results were as follows:1. In the Northern Piedmont of Qinling, H-red kiwifruit's bleeding period began in the middle of February. It's buds sprouted in the last ten days of March. The flowering period began in the last ten days of April. Ten days later, fruits were set, and in the middle of May, the fruitlet began to from. After about140days, in the middle of September, the fruit was mature. The leaves began to fall off from the middle of November befor the dormant period comming.2. H-red's perennial branch was dark-brown, and had low lenticels density on its army-green annual branch. The gap of plump buds was about5.9cm. Obvious serration margin was in its bag, wide heart-shaped, green leaves. Obvious veins were in leaves'back. Length of leave was12.3cm, while the width was14.5cm. The number of inflorescence in one flowering branch was between2to6, and2-4flowers in each inflorescence. Every flower was composed of5petals,32-39pistils, and degenerative stamens. The stamens had no pollination capability.3. The germination rate was84.1%. The narie rate was89.1%. The ratio of fruit bearing shoots was94.1%, and the main bearing shoots were the long branchs.4. Fruit is slightly oval round in shape with deep army green, smooth and hairless fruit skin, and navel-like salient at the calyx end of the fruit's top. Its average longitudinal diameter and transverse diameter are5.8cm and5.0cm respectively, and the weight of individual fruit is97.7g. The fruit flesh is yellow with radial red from central fruit zone, and the quality is good and very juicy with favorable flavor, containing a soluble solids content of19.9%, soluble sugar of12.56%, titratable acidity of1.14%and vitamin C of188.1mg/100g. Fruit could be stored more than120days under0±0.5℃.5. The tree was early bearing and high product.6. The results proved that the comprehensive characters of H-red were superior to that of "Hongyang" and "Wanhong", and enrich the kinds of red-flesh kiwifruit. This would lay a foundation of extension of H-red and management of kiwifruit's kinds.
