The present investigation and morphological observation of argyrophilic cells in the alimentary canal of different ages of Salvelinus leucomaenis were carried out by the silver nitrate method of Grimelius and serious types of antisera including anti-5-HT serum, anti-SS serum, antiGas serum, antiGlu serum, antiPP serum and antiSP serum by immunhistochemical technique,named the avidin-biotin compex method. Distribution density was analyzed on Statistics. Comparasion and discussion were carried out in diet, living environment and taxonomic status, depending on the results above.The results showed that: shapes of Argyrophilic cells were similar as other vertebrates. But distribution density was different from other vertebrates. Argyrophilic cells were detected in cardia, stomach and pylorus in different ages of Salvelinus leucomaenis.The cells also could be seen in esophagus in one-year old fish. Argyrophilic cells were not detected in pyloric caecum intestine, foregut, midgut, hindgut, rectum of different ages of Salvelinus leucomaenis. During in digestive tracks of two and three-years old fish, the highest distribution density of Argyrophilic cells was in the stomach, the second one was in pylorus,the lowest in the cardia.Comparely, in alimentary canal of one-year old Salvelinus leucomaenis,the highest density argyrophilic cells was in cardia,the second one was in esophagus;the lowest one was in pylorus.Generally, the distribution density of argyrophilic cells are adapt with physiological function of different parts in the alimentary canal of various ages section. There were many types of shapes of Argyrophilic cells in the alimentary canal of Salvelinus leucomaenis:main shape of one-year old Salvelinus leucomaenis were cone-shape,and shuttle-like and ellipse were seldom distributing, either. During two and three-years old Salvelinus leucomaenis ,main shapes of the argyrophilic cells in the alimentary canal were cone-shape and round, shuttle-shaped, ellipse cells were reducing or disappearing.According to different morphological shapes of the argyrophilic cells, it could suggest that argyrophilic cells in the alimentary canal of different ages of Salvelinus leucomaenisi have both endocrine and exocrine functions.About experiment on the immunohistochemistry, 5-HT cells,SS cells were detected in the alimentary canal of different ages of Salvelinus leucomaenisi. The results of investigation indicated that The target cells were dark red or brown, under the blue backgrounds, it could be identified easily. But, Glu cells, PP cells,SP cells and GAS cells were not detected in any alimentary canal of different ages of Salvelinus leucomaenisi.5-HT cells were found in cardia, stomach and pylorus. Through the investigation, 5-HT cells also could be detected in the esophagus in one-year Salvelinus leucomaenisi.5-HT cells could not be found in pyloric caecum intestine, foregut, midgut, hindgut, rectum and other parts of intestine among different ages of Salvelinus leucomaenisi. According to the distribution density of 5-HT cells, between one and two-year old Salvelinus leucomaenisi,the highest density was in cardia; otherwise, in three-year old Salvelinus leucomaenisi alimentary canal, the peak of density of endocrine cells appears in stomach. SS cells of different ages of Salvelinus leucomaenisi distributed in cardia, stomach and pylorus. According to the investigation, SS cells also could be identified in esophagus of one-year Salvelinus leucomaenisi. There were not any immuinoreactive SS cells in pyloric caecum intestine, foregut, midgut, hindgut and rectum. Through the distribution density, the highest density SS cells was in cardia and the second one was in stomach. Generally, the distribution density of two types of endocrine cells are adapt with physiological function of alimentary canal of various ages section. The shapes of the endocrine cells in the alimentary canal of different ages Salvelinus leucomaenisi were various: endocrine cells of one-year Salvelinus leucomaenisi were mainly cone-shape. Simultaneously,there were round ,shuttle and ellipse as well. During in gastrointestinal tract of two and three-year old Salvelinus leucomaenisi, shapes of the endocrine cells were reducing slowly. Even in some part, some shapes of cells were disappearing, such as round or shuttle.According to morphological characters of endocrine cells, the results suggest that endocrine cells in the gastrointestinal tract of different ages of Salvelinus leucomaenisi have endocrine and exocrine functions...
