In this thesis, the combining ability, correlation between growth traits and wood properties and comprehensive selection index were contributed based on a two-level diallel cross experiment of Cunninghamia lanceolata (lamb.) Hook, which contained 89 crosses in a 24 years old genetic testing on YangKou Forest Farm, Fujian province in 1986. The main results were as follows:1. The results of combining ability analysis for the 23 years genetic testing shown that, the cross between provenance 1 x 4 provenance was the best performance in the 23years genetic testing in both in DBH and individual volume; the cross with the provenance 5 with provenance 1 was the best combination in the 23 years genetic testing in tree height; the cross with parent 10 from provenance 4 (noted as:4 (10)) and parent 7 from provenance 3 (noted as:3 (7)) was the best in the 23 years genetic testing in tree height; 5 (13) x 1 (3) cross was the best in the 23 years genetic testing in DBH; 5 (15) x 4 (12) individual cross was the best in the 23 years genetic testing in individual volume.2. There was ever as significant correlations among any two of the three growth traits, the correlation coefficients were from 0.21466 to 0.96098. The correlation coefficient between DBH and volume was greater than that between height and volume in the same age of the plantation, and all of the correlation coefficients between DBH and volume were greater than 0.8. There are highly significant correlations among any two of the ages of stand on any one of the three growth traits.3. Single trait selection and genetic parameters estimation were conducted for each trait. Superior crosses between provenance and individuals with 10% elected rate for growth traits were selected, and the genetic gain for \volume was estimated to be 27.31% and 22.98%, the genetic gain for height and DBH was estimated to be 5.27%-11.26%; The genetic gain of eccentricity, the highest in the wood properties traits, was estimated to be 9.871% and7.163%, and the genetic gain of microfibril angle was the second, estimated to be7.537% and 5.420%, the tracheids length was third, estimated to be 5.24% and 4.58%, the genetic gain of basic density was the last one, and was estimated to be 7.135% and 2.075%, the genetic gain of red-colored heartwood ratio was the minimum, estimated to be 0.579% and 1.582%.4. A comprehensive selection index equation constructed with 24a's volume, red-colored heartwood, eccentricity, and basic density microfibril angle and tracheids length: I=123.077x1+0.248045x2-3.73802x3-37.8012x4-1.67284x5+0.00378087x6The estimation accuracy of the comprehensive selection index was 0.4118.4. 4. There were nine superior individual crosses with 10%-elected rate according to the comprehensive selection index, and then select two superior single trees from every one of the nine crosses according to the comprehensive selection index, finally, elect twenty super single trees from the experimental forest single trees according to the comprehensive selection index.
