During the running process of the diesel locomotive, the gradually wear of each components will lead to low performance of the working system, or sudden failure. The condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of the locomotive diesel is necessary for the discovery of the potential and the existing failure, and realize the economic and efficient operation of the diesel locomotive.In order to achieve the condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of the locomotive diesel, it is necessary to build the network system for remote monitoring of the locomotive. Based on GPRS and Internet network, the remote monitoring network was built. In monitoring and diagnosis aspects, diagnosis based on multi-parameters was used to ensure the fault accuracy and reliability of the diagnosis.In this paper, the following remote work is accomplished:(1) The relations between the failures and the diagnosis parameters is analyzed. According to the analysis of the working process of the locomotive diesel engine, we come to a few conclusions of the corresponding relationship between the failures and the diagnosis parameters.(2) The diagnosis method based on multi-parameters is accomplished. On the basis of the instantaneous speed of the diesel engine to monitor the cylinder state; meanwhile, supplemented by the temperature and pressure signal of the intake air of the diesel, the voltage and current signal of the generator, as well as the displacement signal of the throttle rod, proceed the integration of multi-parameter diagnosis for the diesel What's more, the process of the failure diagnosis and the realizing methods of specific failures is accomplished in this part.(3) The design of the monitoring network is accomplished. According to the GPRS and Internet technology, the remote monitoring network is based on the accessory diagnostic instrument-the locomotive local monitor-the remote monitoring diagnostic center structure. The function of each layer and the communication between each layer is accomplished.(4) The design of the remote monitoring diagnostic center and the database is accomplished. In order to meet the demand of monitoring, diagnosis and users, the function module and interface of the application program, which is prepared by the VC, is accomplished.
