Study Of Application Of Walls In Modern Landscape Space

Walls have plentiful form factors. In the field of landscape architecture design, walls are one of the most common landscape elements. For thousands of years, walls have been constantly infused with rich connotation, and achieved high artistic achievement, which play an irreplaceable role in the formation of garden space characteristic. Walls are the succinct and wonderful element in landscape architecture. In modern landscape, designers perform a variety of deduce from wall, and interpret walls from functional and artistic angles. Walls, the landscape element, are increasingly important in modern landscape design.Based on landscape space for the research category, from the view of walls, this paper concludes corresponding conclusions towards different roles of wall in landscape space. Walls in landscape cannot break away from space or exist independently, and at the same time many attributes of wall are related with each other, determine the expression effect of walls in landscape space together. In order to make research structure more clear, this paper first separates walls from the entire landscape space, discuss relevant design factors respectively; and then puts walls back to landscape space, through analysis of plentiful examples local and abroad, discusses the design methods in application of walls essentially.This paper is based on walls. At first, the development and research of walls are reviewed, and limits the research scope within walls in modern landscape in this paper; Secondly defines the roles of walls in space, which is organization function of landscape space and language expression function of landscape architecture; Then explains the relevant design elements of walls respectively, and do theory research from the material, color, shape, scale, vanity and entity, combination, decoration and so on; Finally, based on analysis of examples, summarized the design methods of modern landscape space in two aspects, walls as the spatial organization and walls as landscape language expression, and testify the design methods through specific project practice. Based on the summarization of related research results and the large number of actual project survey, this paper tries to form its own analytical opinions, expects to unearth reference of worth and specific design methods, and provides effective reference and guidance for future practice the design.
