Research On Landscape Design Of Urban Waterfront Pedestrian System

The urban waterfront pedestrian system is an important part of the urban waterfront region. Presently, the construction of urban waterfront pedestrian system has been rapidly developed under the society background of constructing the waterfront regions and advocating green low carbon idea in every domestic waterfront cities. In this paper, the landscape construction of the urban waterfront pedestrian system in Fuzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai and so on is acted as a focal point to research. An exhaustive investigation and study on the landscape construction of the urban waterfront pedestrian system in Fuzhou are made and the landscape design theories of the urban waterfront pedestrian system integrated with some related subject theories are advanced. The main results are as follows:(1) The paper expounds the development of the research, the current situation of construction and the direction of the development about the urban waterfront pedestrian system both at home and abroad, which will be of some value and reference for further analyses and researches of the landscape design theories of the urban waterfront pedestrian system.(2) The urban waterfront pedestrian system is classified according to some cultural functions such as the properties of waters, the spatial morphology of the waterfront region, the main functions of the pedestrian system, the distance between the pedestrian system and the water surface, the cultural function of the pedestrian system and so on. At the same time, the seven components of the urban waterfront pedestrian system is summarized based on the survey information and analyzed in detail. The seven components are paving, protective facilities, pedestrian bridge and bridge space,landscape architecture,landscape sketches and logo, the green plants, landscape lighting. According to the questionnaires, the requirements and the satisfactions of the urban waterfront pedestrian system in Fuzhou are construed and some questions about the system constructions are summarized, which provides a new theoretical foundation for its theory researches.(3) The targets and principles on the landscape design of the urban waterfront pedestrian system are established. In addition, the methods of the landscape design is proposed:On the whole, pay attention to the connection with the urban traffic.Ensure the accessibility of the pedestrian system.Select the reasonable line and guarantee the hydrophilic of it.On the landscape details design,satisfy the basic rules on the environment-behavior study,body engineering and aesthetics.Create a humanize landscape.On the connotation of the landscape, respect the spirit of place, make sure the cultural trails and create the urban landscape with connotations and characteristics.(4) In the end, a case study is given to validate the methodology according to the landscape analysis about the Baima River waterfront pedestrian system in Fuzhou, and some suggestions on the landscape optimization of the urban waterfront pedestrian system are proposed.
