In recent years, the state brings continuously policies related to"Green Lights Program"into operation. In order to meet the development requirements of"Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction", the research & development and industrialization of high permeability and broad working temperature ferrite materials, the key material for products related to green lights such as integrative energy-saving lamps and electronic ballasts, appears especially important.In this paper, the technology requirements of energy-saving lamps and electronic ballasts for the soft magnetic material are firstly introduced. The situation of the conventional ferrite materials at home and abroad is analysed and compared. On account of such problems as bad reliability (high energy consumption) of energy-saving lamps and electronic ballasts, and based on the research of raw material selection, compound design, modification of addition, preparation of fine powder, high density molding of second compacting, balance atmosphere sintering, surface coating and application measurements, the experimental schedule is made and process route is optimized according to the sampling, comparison and analysis of experimental data. Core structure designs are optimized by means of calculation software for core effective parameter, and possible problems and relevant solutions in the design are described.Using common oxide ceramic technology, high permeability and broad working temperature ferrite materials was developed by means of optimization of ingredient and process. The material has characteristics of high initial permeability and temperature stability, etc, can be widely used in filter, choke, inductor and anti-EMC field in addition to green lights.
