With rapid development of motorcycle industry, now China has become the largestproducer in the world, whearas not the powerest. Compared with advanced foreign motor-cycle manufacturers, we are lack in the advanced motorcycle design and manufacturingtechnology, especially the vehicle dynamics virtual prototype simulation thchnology whichbased on vehicle dynamics. Motorcycle vehicle virtual prototype technology, and ongoingtechnological innovation are of great significance to improve the technological content ofproducts and competitiveness.Baed on inheritance and innovatioin of previous research, this paper explores the mo-torcycle "vehicle-driver-road" closed loop system modling and ehicle dynamic charactersanalysis. the main context is organized as following:Firstly, seizing the characteristics of the single-track vehicle movement, the motorcyclemodel is simplied to including only lateral,yaw,roll and steering degree of freedom, and themath model of this simplified motorcycle is derived manually. Also reserch on motion mod-al stability and transiednt reponse are carried out based on this simple vehicle model, withthe results of some insights into sigle-track vehicle dynamic chareacters.Secondly, with the aim of accurate modeling of actual coomplex motorcycle "vehicle-driver-road" closed loop system, research are carried out on the nonlinear tyre,multibodyvehicle model and the motorcycle driver modeling: based on the car UniTire model andtaking into account of motorcycle strcture and large camber small side slip angle conditon,UniTire MC tyre model was estabilished; multibody vehicle model was implemented inSimMechanics\Simulink environment, which taking into account of tyre nonlinear charac-ters by means of UniTire MC tyre model; motorcycle driver models were also establishedbased on Preview-follower theory or LQR optimal preivew control. all of these were finallyintegrated in the Simulink environment, establishing the whole "vehicle-driver-road"close loop system.Furthermore, some dynamic characters especially the stability and handling charactersof the multibody vehicle model are introduced based on the simulation analysis and re-search study.
