Tyre is the most important load-bearing and safety component in automobile driving system.Together with suspension components,it alleviates the vibration and impact brought by the interaction with road surface.When a car passes through a comfort or a pothole obstacle at a high speed,it is easy to cause damage to tyres or even suspension components.For the study of vehicle obstacle-crossing performance,vehicle test can be carried out,but it needs a large number of experimental cost.Thus,the purpose of this paper is to establish an effective finite element vehicle model by using ABAQUS,to study the transient dynamic behaviour of tyre tranversing severe obstacles in full vehilcle scenario.Firstly,the tyre finite element model is established.Considering the change of pressure caused by tyre deformation in the process of tyre obstacle crossing,the method of Fluid Cavity is used to define the pressure of tire.The radial stiffness and longitudinal stiffness of the tyre were simulated to verify the rationality of the static performance of the tyre finite element model.The obstacle-crossing performance of single-wheel Cleat test is simulated and analyzed to verify the rationality of the dynamic performance of the tyre finite element model.Then,combined with the purpose of this paper,the corresponding finite element model vehicle model is established.According to the characteristics of the obstacle-crossing test of the vehicle,the detailed finite element model of the front suspension(McPherson suspension)and the simple finite element model of the rear suspension(multi-link suspension)of the test vehicle are established.The suspension,body and tyre models are assembled and the obstacle is added to form the finite element vehicle model.The load distribution of the finite element vehicle model is determined,and the finite element simulations of the vehicle rolling over comfort and pothole obstacles are carried out.The simulation results are in good agreement with the corresponding vehicle test results,which verifies the validity of the finite element vehicle model and the simulation process.Based on the reliability of the simulation results,the dynamic process of tyre crossing the comfort obstacle at 20 km/h under the vehicle environment is analyzed in detail.Based on the validity of the simulation analysis method,the influence of the modeling methods of the front McPherson suspension components(lateral stabilizer,shock absorber,lower swing arm,rubber bushing,steering tie rod)on the simulation results is studied in detail.In addition,the effects of vehicle speed,obstacle height and tire pressure on tire impact performance are analyzed.
