Seafloor observatory is the majority tendency of the sea technology, which is of grater importance than ever before.The keypoint of Seafloor observatory is junction technology,and it comes out to be a junction box.A power monitor system was designed and debuged for junction box.System controls the power by remote setting,while monitoring working situation inside the chambers of the junction box as well as voltage and current of each channel to all the external loads.Further,multi-node ethernet management and over current protection of high reliability were implemented in this system. This thesis includes six chapters:Chapter one:seafloor observatory was introduced briefly and a detailed description of the underwater junction box key technologies was given.The objects and tasks of this thesis was determined after reviewing seafloor observatory and power monitoring nowadays.Chapter two:analysis of system function was finished based on the project framework. And the overall plan of system,including upper and lower computer,was put forward.Chapter three:mainly research on hardware of the system. Taking C8051F020 as main control chip, system completed power isolation monitoring, multipoint temperature monitoring, water leakage monitoring and communication circuit design.The power junction of main box was realized by EXB481 together with the relay, while the secondary box using the LT4356 chip. Over current protection was designed.Chapter four:research on software which realized the unified management of multi lower nodes. The lower program was compiled in Keil C while the upper in VC++.Chapter five:test part. Tests were designed for possible faults, such as starting, running, breaking off, in different voltage and load conditions.The result of each test was analysed.Chapter six:a summary of the research was given, several proposal of the further developing work was pointed out.
