After a period of development, the technology of HEV is relatively mature, and finished cars have been put into the market, HEV is one of the feasible options to solve the problem of energy shortage and environmental pollution. The history of Solar Electric Vehicle is short, and the current technology is immature. It is significant to solve the present increasingly serious problem of environmental pollution, if we can combine the characteristic of Solar Electric Vehicle and HEV, design a Solar-assited Electric Vehicle to reduce the engine's energy output and vehicle emissions.This paper introduces the basic structure of the three HEV:Series (SHEV), Parallel (PHEV) and hybrid-type (PSHEV), presents all three structure of HEV and work mode. With analyzing and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the three basic structure, as well as analyzing the work mode and characteristic of Solar-assited Vehicle, we present drive system structure of Solar-assited Electric Vehicle, that is, a typical type of PSHEV, and adopt CVT.In this paper, a new energy management strategy of drive system in Solar-assisted Electric Vehicle is presented, as the output of solar cells, batteries self-discharge and load (motor) characteristics are not quantitative, it is difficult to establish a precise mathematical model. Fuzzy control strategy is a rule-based and real-time control strategy, it does not rely on accurate mathematical model of the system, and it has greatly increased the degree of freedom control, has a strong robustness, it is suitable as a Solar-assisted Electric Vehicle control strategy, so we adopt variable structure fuzzy control strategy.Have introduced a simulation analysis soft Advisor 2002, and adopt Advisor 2002 as the simulation analysis platform. Under the MATLAB software environment, use m file programming and establish the model of the drive system, applicate fuzzy logic toolbox to designing fuzzy controller. Finally, Under Advisor2002 interface, test vehicle simulation, analyse Solar-assisted Electric Vehicle dynamic performance of vehicle and vehicle emissions.
