The problem of shortage of energy and environmental prompted to develop cars with low pollution or zero pollution. At present, hybrid buses are considered to be the most alternative internal-combustion passenger transport mainstream generation highway.And the major automobile companies do some research about it. For hybrid buses, designment of power system,the structure design and matching parameters are very important, which is the foundation to realize the diesel power and economy.How to improve the performance to reduce energy consumption and emissions is the important content of automotive technology research. for more than decades,electric cars and hybrid vehicles, fuel cell vehicles have been a focus of research. With today’s technology to automobile, motor and motor driver of hybrid electric vehicle hybrid technology improvements in the performance and reduce automobile exhaust emission, etc., and has obvious effect, short term is expected to become low energy consumption and low emission vehicle replacement technology.The advantages and disadvantages of several drive structures had been elaborated on. Then the parallel configuration Was put forward based on analyzing and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of series and parallel power train for hybrid electric power train sructure. The analysis and configuration for power train, such as engine, storage, motor and tansmission was selected respectively according to analyzing the component for HEV. As well as analyzing the work mode and characteristic of Solar-assited Vehicle, we proposed drive system structure of Solar-assited Electric Vehicle.According to the mechanism and control methods of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT),a new modified adaptive MPPT method based on fuzzy control which includes automatic parameter tuning and directly uses the DC/DC converter duty cycle as a control parameter is presented.This method can track MPP changes rapidly without disturbing PV system.Experimental results show it can track MPP exactly and quickly.The thesis completed dynamic parameters matching and control strategy research. And fuzzy control strategy was selected.At last, ADVISOR software was used to simulate the designed prototype under certain drive cycle. The simulation result was compared with the conventional bus in the end from which it could be concluded that it is feasibility to design Solar-assisted Electric Vehicle.
