High energy consumption of national iron and steel industry has been the existing problem all along during it's development, in spite of decreasing in recent years, but when compared with foreign advanced level, there is a big gap.Furnace, converter, sintering machine, etc.in iron and steel plant are equipped with evaporative cooling devices, producing a large number of low-temperature and low-pressure saturated steam, with the exception of a small amount being used, most low-pressure steam is often not reasonably used, but emitted to the atmosphere, thus not only polluting the environment, but also causing a great waste of energy. With the energy-saving emission reduction policies and measures to implement in-depth, iron and steel enterprises will have to take into account waste heat recovery and utilization, so there is likely to face a problem of the reasonable use of a great quantity of low-pressure saturated steam.This thesis has made some research of the produce and the use of recovery heat steam in Nanjing Iron and Steel Company.There are two kinds of saturated steam generation way:Screw expanding electricity generation and the condensation type saturated steam turbine electricity generation. This thesis has carried on the economic comparison between these two kinds of electricity generation way in Nanjing Iron and Steel Company.In view of present situation of 0.8MPa steam system's supply and demand in Nanjing Iron and Steel Company, proposed the use of combined cooling heating power generation technology to, so as to achieve balance between supply and demand and to prevent emission of steam.On the basis of the first law of thermodynamics, this thesis has derived the energy-saving conditions for three kinds of energy supply:the first way of energy supply is cooling heating power are supplied separated, the second way of energy supply is combined heating & power generation and cooling are supplied separated, the third way of energy supply is combined cooling heating & power generation. Through two kinds of refrigeration way's comparison between afterheat steam absorption refrigeration and electricity compression refrigeration, this thesis has obtained the conclusion that using afterheat steam absorption refrigeration replaces electricity compression refrigeration to reduce the power consumption largely in the summer.
