Nowadays, as the visual simulation technique is widely applied in the military field, its function in the "underwater weapons attacking test(UWAT)" is becoming significant increasingly. In the traditional UWAT, the researchers usually analyse and display the data of test by means of curves and graphs; if all kinds of the test data can be changed into virtual 3D cartoon scenes, it must be helpful to analysis, estimation and decision-making of the test process and result. There is few work has been done in this field, so it is a kind of creationary and univocal work to study bringing the visual simulation technique into fullplay in the UWAT, which includes reproducing the test process, previewing the test program and observing the test scenes from all of the angles of view.A new "multi-highlight underwaer target simulation system (MUTSS)" which is used in the UWAT, and the application of the visual simulation technique in discribing the underwater working situation of the MUTSS have been studied in this dissertation.Firstly, the dissertation summarizes the current status quo of domestic and international study in the features of underwater target echo and visual simulation technique, analyses the physical basis of approximate highlights model.After analysing the real process and relevant data of UWATs, the requirements in the visual simulation of UWAT has been definituded, and the technical approach of realizing the simulation of UWAT has been laid out.Based on the physical acoustic method, the formula of computing the parameters in typical multi-highlight underwater target's echo is derived. The impact of different incidence angle to the highlights model is validated in the MATLAB simulation and the simulation's results is given in graphics.In the dissertation, the functions and features of Multigen Creator & Vega, which is one of the visual simulation software tools, is introduced.After studied the methods of three-dimensional modeling under the software enviroment of Creator and methods of configuring virtual scenes in the Vega's Lynx graphical interface, all of the three-dimensional models required in the virtual test scenes have been designed and realized, and then the virtual test scenes have been configured.Finally, in the software environment of VC++6.0, by calling the API functions of MFC and Vega, the secondary development of the virtual test scenes is brought to success,all the designed functions have come true, and the virtual simulation of UWAT has been carried out--the process of test and the preview of test program can be showed in a real-time three-dimensional cartoon.
