The safety of ship structure has always been a notably issue in modern society for a long time. As an important waterborne transportation vehicle, the real-time strength of ship structure has already been a focus by many researchers. Therefore, the concept of real-time monitor has been introduced to the construction engineering field. Sensors are planted in order to monitor the real-time stress of ship structure. This paper which based on the condition mentioned before discusses the establishment method of real-time structure monitor for ship in detail. It includes several percepts as the arrangement of sensors, the method for monitoring the study of alarm stress, data processing, the development of database system, and the research for reliability of whole system. The main divisions are listed as following,1) The research has been taken on structure stress and the arrangement of active monitoring sensors. The monitor points are located according to existed criterion and the results of FEM direst calculation.2) Method for ship structure monitor system has been studied which provides the ship structure monitoring methods based on the technology of FBG. Meanwhile the short-term prediction theory of the ship's wave loads calculation has been introduced in this paper. And the determination method of the high stress alert value of the ship structure's has been studied.3) A study on the method for real-time data processing and error analysis has been carried out. The method for fatigue stress data processing has also been discussed.4) The real-time monitor system based on database technique has been developed. Software used for real-time monitor is compiled in order to collect, manage and display data. Meanwhile, the platform provides the ship's condition information, monitoring signal, the save, modification and the inquiry function of the current state and initialization.5) The probable work environment was simulated in laboratory condition. The reliability of the system has been evaluated and the correspondent experiment design of real ship was figured out.
