Leaking and viberation are common problems for centrifugal pumps. Leaking and vibration bring huge problems. This paper studies at solving the leakage and vibration problems from centrifugal pump.This paper introduces the basic theory of seal and viberation and thus present key problems concerning the pump cover and sheet metal bracket, which this paper mainly concentrates on. Point out studying and solving the leakage and vibration problem will use FEA method. The FEA theory is introduced first, and it is pointed out that the FEA provide a solution to the problem of leaking and vibration in the centrifugal pump. Then mode test is suggested to verify the correctness by comparing the test result with that of FEA simulation, and shows the correctness of the method.According to FEA to make structure optimizing for pump cover. Base on the situation too big static deformation, thicking the pump cover and adding ribs are suggested, improving the design of the interface between pump cover and housing is also suggested; and the result showed that, by thicking the pump cover, adding ribs together with optimizing the structure of the interface, the deformation is essentially reduced to an allowable amount, and the effect is also verified through FEA analysis. Verifies the effectiveness of FEA in solving the sealing problems.To analyse and optimize the structure stiffness of the sheet metal bracket, the computing mode is first obtained the FEA,and the plan on the structure modification is obtained, furthur verfied through mode test. The optimized structure of the sheet metal bracket is finally obtained through mode simulation and mode test. The reasonability of the structure is verified through FEA and mode test.All in all, this paper analyse the centrifugal pumps'key structure by using FEA. Structure optimizing is realized through FEA and mode test. The research problems in this paper comes from practical work, and the approach proposed in this paper is of significant meaning to practical engineering.
