The phased-array Doppler log, as a kind of instrument supplying precision velocity and voyage information, has been applicated broadly. The testing methods of the equipment still depend on marine trial and pool trial. Shortcomings exist in this testing method as the high cost and long cycle. An exterior phased-array signal simulator equipment is designed in the thesis. The log's system configuration will not be changed by the equipment. The signal received by the log and be calculated. The log's capability could be detected via analyze the calculate result.Firstly, the correlative theory is discussed in the thesis, including the phased-array Doppler log theory and the direct digital synthesizer used in the system. Secondly, the specific solution of the system is decided based on the signal parameter transmitted and received by the phased-array Doppler Log. The hardware circuit and software program are designed based on the system solution. The digital circuit and the signal collection/output coupling circuit are designed in the hardware circuit. Compatibility between the signal simulator and log's transimitter is achieved in the thesis. Finally, the program is designed and debug with the phased-array log.The experiments indicate that the hardware circuits and software programs can work properly and the requirements are fulfilled.
