Concept of TLP is not completely new, but the variations involved in the analysis and design of TLP has made it a revolutionary achievement in the field of offshore structures. These structures undergo continuous repetitive environmental loads throughout their life and hence need sophisticated design techniques and consideration. A number of failures of offshore structures happen due to certain discrepancies of design and fail to withstand against certain environmental load. In this thesis, characteristic features of TLP's are briefly described, and an overview is given of different environmental loads on TLP structure. Detailed literature survey was performed to study the work done in this field. Analyses have been performed against significant environmental loads on TLP (Wave Load, Wind Load & Current Drag Force) to study different limit states based on the general guidelines set out in the API Standards for design and analysis of TLP and other offshore platforms/structures.A generic TLP structure situated in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) is analysed for Yield Strength, Ultimate Strength, Fatigue Life and Buckling and structure responses are discussed in accordance with analysis results. Analyses are performed based on 100 years sea state data of GOM. Emphasis are given on column structure, pontoon structure and column-pontoon connections to study the structure response and different limit states and there sequence of occurrence for the current configuration.
