This research belongs to ship building technology field, the major problem to be resolved is the design and manufacture of whole turning-over equipment for aluminum alloy catamaran. Using the turning-over equipment, we can ensure the safety during the course of the ship turning, as well as prevent ship surface from damage, keep the overall deformation in the allowed range.On the basis of studying carefully the turning weight and structure of the PS-30 product, combining the calculation of the weight and gravity center for the catamaran, the structure and scantlings of turning-over equipment is decided.A lot of calculations have been done in order to assure the strength, including the selection of bearing force state and calculation model, the confirmation of calculation loads, the strength calculation during the course of ship lifting, section modulus calculation, bending stress strength check, shear stress strength check, the maximum deformation calculation. The lifting rings strength is also checked by calculation which includes the rings'working load, tension stress of the rings, shear stress of the rings, extrusion stress of the rings, tension stress strength calculation of the lifting equipment, extrusion stress of the lifting equipment.On the base of analyzing the ship structure characteristic and the turning-over equipment, the finite element method is used to set up the finite element model, calculate the stress distribution and deformation of the turning-over equipment by considering three working condition such as lifting, turning and reverting. Meanwhile the stress of the lifting ring under lifting, turning and reverting is also calculated.Through above studying, the problems such as safety, protection, strength request and operation when the aluminum alloy catamaran turned over are solved..
