Alumnium alloy wheel is the part which connects the suspension system of vehicle andground. It is one of the most important parts that could result in security of vehicle. If we use acommon design method of alumnium alloy wheel, we don’t take into account strength andfatigue of alloy wheel, then the aluminum alloy wheel could not meet the requirements offatigue and strength of company. It will take much time and lose much money. So the thesis isbased on the fatigue strength of the aluminum alloy wheel for further study of structure designand analysis methods of alumnium alloy wheel.First, the thesis is about the status and development trend of common aluminum alloywheel design.Second, since fatigue failure is the main failure of automobile wheel, the thesistake into account alternating load and section of spokes and chamfer of root spokers, so thethesis explains those main reasons which might result in failure of fatigue and strength foralumnium alloy wheel. On this basis, the thesis presents a design method of structure which isbased on the fatigue and strength of aluminum alloy wheels, and explains the differencebetween the new method and common design method. Then, according the new method, wedesign the mounting base of wheel and the spokes of wheel and the overall rim of wheel andcomponent of wheels. We get a new aluminum alloy wheel, the structure of which is based onthe fatigue and strength. Then, we build CAD model and CAE model and start finite elementsimulation using CAD/CAE software (CATIA and ANSYS Workbench) in the thesis. In orderto verify the method of structural design based on the fatigue strength of the aluminum alloywheel, we make the dynamic bending fatigue test and the dynamic radial load fatigue test.
