In recent years, the virtual test technology for the advantages of security, economy and flexibility is concerned in marine fields. In this paper, using the rapid development of virtual test technology, the test method of ship structural strength based on the dynamic response calculation is developed. By combining the simulation and finite element analysis technology, the virtual test system of hull structural strength is designed and refined in the MFC framework, which provide guidances for designing and improving of the ship structure. In this paper, the following aspects are studied:1. The principle of dynamic response analysis is expatiated; the method of dynamic response calculation is studied; and the auto-load approach of time-dimension wave load is realized by using the finite element analysis software MSC/Patran and its PCL language.2. The virtual test method of dynamic response is developed. Basing on Wave Loads Caculation System, time domain wave loads are simulated under the regular wave, long crest wave and short crest wave; the virtual test of dynamic response is realized by using transient response analysis method.3. Imitating the process of real test, the virtual test system based on VC++ and OpenGL is developed and refined, which is closely linked to FEA saftware, reflects the process of testing.4. Taking a sample ship, simulate real ship loading condition, layout of measurement points, and take the virtual test of sample vessel stress. The test results are analyzed statistically and compared with the real ship test results, which verify the accuracy and feasibility of virtual test.
