Into the twenty-first century, China's shipbuilding enterprises developed rapidly. Large-scale shipbuilding enterprises have constructed large vessels of 100,000 tons,200,000 tons,300,000 tons etc.. And they also have established modern shipbuilding mode for adapting to development of modern shipbuilding. The target of research of Construction Method & Procedure is that the ship building will be faster, more efficient and low-cost. For the technology issues and resources bottleneck of shipyard, also for the principle of people-oriented, we carried out the research. This is an important symbol of modernization of shipyards. Therefore the research of construction method & procedure has increasingly become one of the major research contents of shipbuilding company to rapid development.The research of construction method & procedure covers all aspects of shipbuilding process, from bidding for the technical support to the new technology research and development, from a single speciality to the Integration of shell, outfitting & coating. In this discourse, we research & discuss about the application of the new construction method & procedure for the large vessel construction in four aspects. Firstly, the research of construction method & procedure. The emphasis is on the prophase control of double-sided floors installation, the process flow, the installation procedure, hull pre-tightness test and hatch integrated assembly. Secondly, welding and assembling method. The emphasis is on the weld shrinkage, the compensation of deformation and etc. Thirdly, the research of stern construction method & procedure. It mainly includes boring at the block phase and hull parts separately cutting and sending. Fourthly, the research of pre-outfitting and method of unit module.By using double-sided floors installation, a lot of steel can be saved, the hull weight and the cost can be reduced. Automatical loading and welding the longitudinal can be achieved. It can reduce the weld deformation and improve the quality. This is a major breakthrough in the aspects such as construction process. Through the application of hull pre-tightness test, we have greatly reduced the density of dock work and the dock cycle greatly. Through the research and the application of deformation, we have improved the control of accuracy, and made favorable conditions for the rapid erection. The pre-outfitting is one of the greatest safeguards to shorten the dock cycle and even the whole ship building cycle. Unit modular is the most typical manifestation of modern shipbuilding.This discourse can be a guidance for the work of modern shipbuilding mode.
