Large-sized general hospitals have all the departments, advancedmedical equipments and complete functions, alwaying leading the hospicalconstructions. Therefore, taking general hospitals as research objects has therepresentativeness.Compared to hopital buildings' internal space, the externalenvironment funtions mainly to deal with the traffic lines among hospitalbuildings in order to guide and relieve pedestrian flow.As the main place andthe main approach to contact external and natural environment for inpatiens, hospital buildings' external environment may compensate the feeling ofsolitude, retiringness and isolation from the outside for the inpatients. Agood external environment acts also a role of therapy and rehabilitation.Thecurrent domestic and foreign research of the therapeutic supportiveness ofgeneral hospitals' external environment focuses on: healing garden, healinglandscape, horticulture therapy, etc.The lack of comprehensive evaluation oftherapeutic supportiveness of general hospitals' external environment both athome and abroad leads to the uneven level in the construction oftherapeutical landscape in general hospitals' external environment. The construction and the promotion of therapeutic landscape in general hospitals'external environment require a complete and standardized evaluating systemas guidance. The main content of this paper is that:(1) theory researchThrough depth analysing the outside environment of comprehensivehospital, the history of rehabilitation support landscape, its domestic andinternational situation and characteristic effect, I get the evaluation ofrehabilitation support landscape of comprehensive hospital.(2) empirical researchAfter theory research, I take three three-level comprehensive hospitalsas object, based on a large number of field research data I analysis andexplore how to design the rehabilitation support landscape to prepare for thenext research.(3) design researchImplement the research on the design level. Through evaluating andanalysing of these three comprehensive hospitals based on theoretical andempirical research, I know the deficiencies that help me to establish ways todesign rehabilitation support landscape of comprehensive hospital. In this study, I take three comprehensive hospitals in Shanghai as object, after investigating the universality of their facilities, the diversity of theirspace and the desirability of their perceived environment, I establish an evaluation model of rehabilitation support landscape. Then I evaluate of therehabilitation support landscape in these three comprehensive hospitals basedon this model. The result is that:(1) Among the hospitals that we investigate, the best evaluation value ofthe universality of facilities (sub-target level) is that the East Branch of RenjiHospital, reaching level â… , while those of Ruijin Hospital and ChanghaiHospital are both level â…¡. The main reason of that the evaluation value ofrecreational facilities in Changhai Hospital is lower is that facilities are lessand its material is uncomfortable.(2) The evaluation values of thediversity of space for these three hospitals are low, and their spacetransportation is unsatisfied. Besides the space of Changhai Hospital is lackof action function and its recreational facilities are less.(3) The evaluationvalues of the diversity of space for both Ruijin Hospital and the East Branchof Renji Hospital are both level â…¡ while that of Changhai Hospital is lessdesirable, only reaching level â…¢.(4) As to the evaluation value of thedesirability of perceived environment, those of Ruijin Hospital and the EastBranch of Renji Hospital are both level â…¡, while that of Changhai Hospitalremains less desirable, only reaching level â…¢. The main reason is that itsspace is not comfortable for people to enjoy.Based on analysing the result of empirical research, I raise anoptimization strategy for the construction of Shanghai Changhai Hospital'sexternal environment on the suitability of the width and the gradient of sidewalks, the universality of recreational facilities, the diversity of spacepattern, the suitability of plant materials, etc. The strategy provides somesimple, practical and easy to implement suggestions for reference, to theconstruction and the promotion of therapeutic landscape of the externalenvironment of general hospitals in Shanghai. The lack of this research are that:1) In this study, field surveys and analysis of the literature on the support ofShanghai comprehensive outside the hospital environment rehabilitation andsupport evaluation index system of comprehensive outside the hospitalenvironment rehabilitation as well as comprehensive evaluation model, andapply to the Shanghai region integrated environmental Assessment in thehospital, but other parts of the hospital, the environmental assessment maynot be entirely applicable, needs further testing and adjustment.2) In this study, established in the general hospital recover externalenvironment supportive evaluation system and the right to re-grade todetermine, mainly based on literature theory, expert opinion and publicsurvey questionnaire and given a certain degree of subjectivity, evaluation, indicators of the right weight and evaluation level may be different due to theparticipation of experts and the public differ, conditional on the choice ofexperts and the public to develop selection criteria, for purposes of this studywill be more convincing.3) In this study, field survey collected basic information on environmental rehabilitation support landscape in the district general hospital in Shanghai, combined with relevant information through a comprehensive evaluationmethod to analyze the current problems in the general hospital and externalenvironment in Shanghai, and proposed the corresponding construction ofoptimization of countermeasures. However, this method is limited toconstruction of the external environment of the recent general hospital, fromthe long-term point of view, the general hospital outside environmentalrehabilitation to support the sexual construction of a lack of a betterinformation management system, only the establishment of such a systemand system in order to truly support the evaluation of environmentalrehabilitation in general hospitals, construction, testing, control andmanagement integration.
