As an important lifting machinery, crane is widely used in national production in manyfields. But the characteristics such as wide application scope, variety operation complex workenvironment and so on, have been one of the important sources that may cause accident. Socrane is managed as a kind of special equipments. When the company checks the equipment,the brake glide distance of crane is an indispensable project. Now professional and efficientinstruments within the industry are few and expensive, and the methods, such as measureprecision, detection efficiency, and safe reliability used commonly exhibit drawbacks.Therefore, it has greatly significant practical significance and social value to research anddevelop safe, efficient, intelligent and high performance-cost ratio testing system for brakeglide distance of crane.At the beginning of the paper, we compare several detection methods. Combined with thecharacteristics of the mainstream crane, we put forward a new kind of measurement method ofcrane brake down, and proved it by experiment. The total system contains four parts, such asmain-control module, hand-hold controller, remote control module and PC. This thesis waslaunched describing from three parts.Firstly, mechanical structure of the main control device is designed and manufactured.Secondly, according to the measuring principle and system performance index, we designthe hardware circuit, including sensor signal interface circuit, motor driven signal circuit,keyboard and display circuit, wireless serial interface module circuit and so on.Thirdly, the system software includes the lower computer and the upper computer. Thelower computer software was composed of the primary controller of wireless data analytic theory,signal evaluation of laser sensor signal, the calculation of glide distance, the display and refreshof the status of the host server processes, wireless serial transceiver procedures and so on. Theupper computer contains command control and data processing, it can realize all functions andquery the data.Finally, through on-line debugging, testing in the experiment environment and the actualsituation, the results showed that the system was more accurate and more efficient, it can meetthe practical need. The system was easy to operate, with high intelligent, and it can guaranteepersonal safety.
