The Application Of The BIM Technology In The Design Of Solar Building

Nowadays, energy and environmental issues are increasingly prominent, and the development of solar building with efficient and comprehensive solar energy systems is inevitable. The domestic market of solar building, however, is beyond satisfactory. During the design stage, traditional design conception and strategies are still dominated, and also the design flow. Thus, the architectural proposals with solar energy technologies would only stay in theory rather than put into practice, which is to the disadvantage of the development of domestic solar building industry. Therefore, this paper aims at the issue s about how to design a real solar building according to its unique characteristics (especially the technic merits) with innovative design methods to optimize and integrate the design flow. This type of solar building would be truly efficient and low energy consumption.BIM technology is currently being profound impact on the architecture industry, especially revolutionary changes in terms of architectural design modes. It could not only greatly improve the overall efficiency of the architectural design, but also optimize the design strategies in order to ensure the final quality of the building. BIM technology could manage the information about the life cycle comprehensively.Therefore, this paper focuses on"the application of the BIM technology in the design of solar building". By summarizing the employment of solar energy technologies and the integrated design procedures, combined with the application of BIM concepts and technologies, this paper researches and analyzes the design flow of the solar building with BIM technology. Hence, the design frame would meet the demand of solar building strategies and technologies. BIM technology would be discussed and studied through all stages of the solar building design. All the efficient design theories, procedures and strategies concerned could be a positive reference to the solar building design.
