Road system is the skeleton and choroid of the urban park, whose two important characteristics are the scale and structure. It not only replenishes and perfects the current park design standards, but also supplies the scientific basis for the reconstruction and construction of urban park that understanding the representative meaning and influencing factors of road scale and road network structure, mastering the eigenvalue of every technical index of garden path scale and road network structure, and establishing the evaluation system of urban park path system.It takes 10 representative synthesis parks in Shanghai as research objects, with the method of spot investigation to measure and correct the related information existing about the garden path, and to get the accurately basic data of garden path system of every park, such as the park area, water area proportion, the width and length of every grade road, the pavement area and so on, which provide a basis for the research of garden path scale and road network structure.It carries out research on the garden path scale and road network structure of urban synthesis parks, based on the data above,(1) It chooses road network density, road area density, and road & pavement percentage as the indexes of garden path scale, and grade proportion, non-linear coefficient, and connection degree index as the indexes of road network structure respectively, and describes the potential influencing factors of garden path scale and road network structure qualitatively, and analyses the difference of standard and regulation between the garden path scale and urban road scale.(2) It calculates three garden path scale indexes, and analyses the influencing factors of road scale qualitatively and quantitatively with the help of Excel 2003 and SAS 8.1, and establishes the linear regression equation between the significantly relevant factors, and carries out the interval estimation of expectation or interval prediction of every garden path scale index, and proposes the strategies to control the garden path scale.(3) It analyses the significances of difference (analysis of variance) of the garden path scale indexes between different function divisions, and carries out the interval estimation of expectation.(4) It judges and analyses the structure form of garden path network, and analyses the influencing factors of grade proportion qualitatively or quantitatively. It calculates the non-linear coefficient and connection degree index through program design, and carries out the interval estimation of expectation of the three structure indexes, and proposes the strategies to select and control road structure.It draws a conclusion through the research and analysis,(1) Garden path network density and road area density have the significant relationships of linear regression with total area of park and water area proportion respectively, and the linear regression equations are Y^ = 517.80- 0.0002714X1 and Y^ = 0.1860-0.00376 X2 respectively (X1 and X2 stand for total area of park and water area proportion respectively). Road & pavement percentage nearly has no significant relationship with other factors, which reaches [13.57, 23.31] stablely and has the trend of decrease with the increase of park area.(2) Road network density and road area density have no significant differences among the children playing area, culture & entertainment area, ornamental & excursion area, and tranquil rest area, but the road & pavement percentage of the first two divisions is higher than the latter two. In analysis result, we can find out that the main and second roads are primary in the fist two divisions, and the pavement area is larger. There are more second and main roads in the ornamental & excursion area, and the pavement area is smaller. The second and third roads are the primary in the tranquil rest area, and the pavement area is smaller.(3) The road network of simple type or combined type of ring shaped are the best forms of road network, if the shape of park land and topography are suitable, which does favor to the expansion of landscape sequence and the playing of service function.(4) The second road proportion of grade proportion of garden path has relationship with the park style, the main road: the second road: the third road should to be 1.00:[1.05, 1.29(]Chinese style)or [0.62, 1.02(]English style):[0.88, 1.60]. The non-linear coefficient and connection degree index of different parks have no significant differences, and reach [1.2805, 1.3871] and [2.6828, 2.8074] respectively.Main innovations and deficiencies of the research,In theoretically, it is the first time to do the research about garden path system in the aspect of plan and design from the perspective of scale and structure, which explores the internal law and tries to establish the evaluation system of road system of synthesis park. In the method and technology, it introduces the scientific and rigorous mathematical analysis methods to the quantitative and qualitative analysis of technical indexes of garden path, and compiles the program of auto-calculation and intelligent evaluation of the technical indexes of garden path with the help of computer software, which improves the application value.Because of the limitation of time and energy, it does the research about garden path only from the scale and structure, without considering the aesthetics, ecology and other complicated factors. And it only analyses the stable influencing factors of garden path, without analyzing the relationships between the practical visitor capacity and garden path scale & road structure, which needs further study.
