The Strategy Analysis Of Logistics Development In Rizhao Port

With the deepening of economic globalization and trade liberalization, the logistics industry has been rapidly developed. As an important link in the logistics chain, the port plays an extremely important part in the development of the logistics. However, the port logistics was still in its youth, with a huge space for development. Therefore, in order to maintain the competitiveness of the port and ensure better development of the port in future, major ports all over the world pay more and more attention to the development of port logistics. Currently, all the major domestic and foreign ports, have achieved a big leap in their developments. They all have their own patterns of port logistics separately and are seeking for the better development strategies for further development.This paper gives some strategic analysis to the development mode of Rizhao port based on the its actual situation and the relevant theoretical knowledge of port logistics and the development experience and advanced mode of the major port both in China and other countries. On the base of the fact of Rizhao port and the main ports in the world and also the relevant theoretical knowledge of port logistics, firstly, a prediction of the cargo throughput of Rizhao port during the Twelfth Five-Year is given with the help of the combination forecasting method of linear regression model and the gray model, with the conclusion that Rizhao port will enter a rapid development period and the strategic adjustments to the future development is essential. Secondly, the SWOT method is applied to the analysis of the existing environment of Rizhao port, including its own strengths and weakness as well as the external opportunities and threats. It's concluded that Rizhao port now is facing the unprecedented challenges and has to adjust its strategies to deal with them. Moreover, we obtained an appropriate strategic portfolio through the SWOT strategic analysis. Finally, countermeasures and suggestions are presented for Rizhao port so as to realize the transform of Rizhao port from a hundred-million-ton big port to the double-hundred-million-ton powerful port and development into a major hub port.
