Primary Research Of Glue-Laminated Bamboo Architecture Design

Along with the global economic development, energy demand is ever-increasing. The problems of energy shortages and environmental degradation surfaced as a result of the imbalance between energy supply and demand. In order to meet these new challenges, the ecological mode of sustainable development is gradually applied in all walks of life. In architecture, more and more designers begin to study green materials and ecological design strategies focusing on opening new markets in construction industry.Glue-laminated bamboo building is an excellent type of ecological architecture, who stands out from the trends of innovation. Although related theory system is not mature, but it has great potential for development. Glue-laminated bamboo building has good chemical properties, which provides the designer with various possibilities. A case study is presented in this paper to demonstrate the application of the glue-laminated bamboo material in the construction field as structural materials, palisade structure materials and decorative materials. The author will take the project named "cross curtilage" for instance, which she participated in, and analyze the entire process from concept design to detail nodes so as to draw the design strategies of glue-laminated bamboo building. The author's aim is to introduce the glue-laminated building to relative employees and get them to know more about it. In this case, more professionals would devote themselves to the glue-laminated bamboo materials and it will gain a better development.This paper has been divided into six chapters. The first two chapters elaborate the research background and the basic characteristics of the glue-laminated bamboo material. The left four chapters carry out a deep analysis on the design scheme of glue-laminated bamboo building based on a real case. Specific content go as follows:Chapter 1: The author will describe the background knowledge, the main concepts, the framework and the research methods that applied in this paperChapter 2: The author will give some basic information about glue-laminated bamboo materials, and explain the ecological significance and value of glue-laminated bamboo.Chapter 3: The author will list several cases which glue-laminated bamboo has been applied in practice, and the cases will be classified into different categories for the ease of discussion. According to the process of its application, the author has summarized its feasibility and offered some solutions to its problem which will sure attribute to the relevant specification of glue-laminated bamboo.Chapter 4: The author will take the "cross-shaped house" project for example to analyze the background and design theory of this case. In order to come up with the suitable type of material, the mechanical properties of the material will be tested.Chapter 5: The author will sum up the design principles of glue-laminated bamboo building combined with practical cases in chapter 3 and chapter 4. The article will give methods on the structure, the detail structure and the construction of glue-laminated bamboo building through the research of the technical highlights.Chapter 6: The author will summarize the content of this paper and make a conclusion. Combined with the current state of glue-laminated bamboo building, the author will offer some helpful advices for the sake of future study.
