Tunnel heading and loading machine is a kind of high efficiency transporting detritus equipment in the tunnel construction, which is based on drilling-blasting method. Tunnel heading and loading machine has the advantages of low pollution and high efficiency. The application of Tunnel heading and loading machine can accelerate the speed of small cross section tunnel construction by a large margin, and increase operation effciency. Using the Tunnel heading and loading machine in tunnel construction will produce significant economic benefits to the construction firms.According to the partner's request, the most important parameter is the transport capacity, which can not less than 400m3/h, to meet this requirement,first,we design which kind of component part shoud be choosen, and what kind of framework of the machine. Then dispose them. Afterwards, calculate other main parameters such as the maximum traction, maximum climbing ability, maximum travel speed, machine stability. then we check the transport capacity and Power Matching. Using SolidWorks software, we can establish various kinds of 3D component part. then assemble the component part into a whole machine.We calculate and design the key component part of the Tunnel heading and loading machine such as boom equipement and crawler traveling device.the calculation is about the resistance under bucket ram and dipper stick ram operating conditions.then we choose the worse condition- bucket ram working as the analysis condition. so we know the force on the hinge point.because the center of gravity of the machine and the geometrical center of crawler traveling device are not the same point, when we compute the max ground pressure, steering capability,the factor must take into account, otherwise we can not acquire the real data.at last, we choose the catenary model as the model of track assembly.under the model,can compute the tension of the track assembly.This paper makes the strength and stiffness analysis of tunnel heading and loading machine boom equipement by using the ANSYS finite element analysis software, it can verify whether the structure design is reasonable or not.This research,not only offer a new sample of the Tunnel heading and loading machine, but also provide an useful design approach.
