With the railway passenger dedicated lines constructed fast, China Railways High-speed electric multiple units localized, the development of speed-lift switch and technology continues welded track, control way relying on traditional artificial experience and not intelligent enough which need to be improved urgently. Traction calculation theory and characteristics of motion has been studied, and then a complete series of domestic CRH EMU traction calculation system has been developed. It's important that using this system to analyse, manipulate train reasonably, monitor control, select and design locomotive, design select route, and the development of traction control intelligently has realistic significance.Based on giving a sketch of the current situation of traction calculation home and abroad, basic mechanics knowledge of traction calculation was introduced briefly and the calculation of traction, braking.force, resistance of traction calculation system was analyzed in this paper. Based on analyzing the common calculation models, operation condition and motion equation were studied, and starting process, middle process and braking process of the calculation logic during the movement process was discussed real time.Based on the theory basis above, the simulation system was developed and built by using Acess database and Visual C++ 2008 software. Modular view was used in the realization process of simulation system which contains database function module, data detection module, traction calculation program module, drawing program module. The database function module contains the fully route database, locomotive and vehicle database, traction calculation results database. Data detection module detect the horizontal curve and longitudinal gradient data of route database whether Satisfy the standard of specification. Traction calculation program module adopted multi-particle model, and broken chainage was considered. Drawing function module can accurate output V-S figure, T-S figure, running condition variations, running timetable, according to the begin to end point input by user.At the very end part of paper, the constructing project Chengdu-Lanzhou was used as an example to be worked out by the traction calculation system and the correctness and rationality of the operation results was analyzed, which have achieved good effects and high accuracy.
