The Enlightenment Of Ecological Experience In Traditional Village On Urban Design

Current global environment and energy issues are facing unprecedented crises and challenges. Behind the excess changing to nature, human been is getting the "pay back" from nature. Due to the poor technology and disability to change nature in traditional village, this needs people to adapt and follow natural disciplines. The author believe that adapting and corresponding to nature should be the key factor needed in ecological and energy-saving strategy. This situation rises my great interests in the research on ecological experiences of traditional village.Energy saving is within the field of ecology. The author found urban design is the most weak part in the whole energy-saving chain but the role is quite important. So this part should be paid more attention. The study object of this thesis is a traditional village, and aims for the enlightenment of the ecological experience on urban design.To begin with, the article clarifies the importance of ecological consideration in the phase of urban design. The article also explores the factors of ecological urban design and analyses the factors which influence urban energy-consuming. This article clarifies the importance of urban morphology to urban energy-consuming. The author has once done a research on Korean traditional village—Da Pu village based on cultural character and spacial character. The author want to continue studying the same village. But the focus is ecological experience. There are five enlightenments as followed:the harmonious relationship and enlightenment between Da Pu village and nature, the relationship between the location of Da Pu village and road system and dominant wind in winter and summer, the enlightenment of cluster shape of Da Pu village on urban sprawl, the enlightenment of spacial relationship of Da Pu village on huge block development in China, the enlightenment of multi-functional Da Pu village on urban design.The author has once applied the cultural characters and spacial characters of Da Pu village on a new harbour area design in Incheon city of south Korea. In this thesis, the author found the new harbour design area which transformed by Da Pu village mostly benefits energy-saving by energy-consuming analysises and comparisons. But some parts need to be developed.
