The current testing modes of motormeter can't meet the growing needs of which motormeter manufacturers about the products' intelligent test and calibration, so that the instrument production's level is lower than the level of vehicle production. In order to deal with this problem, this topic choose the automobile intelligent instrument as the test object, based on the virtual instrument technology, to develop a virtual test system of automobile intelligent instrument.Based on the work principle and the general framework of the the vehicle intelligent instrument virtual test system, this paper developed the system's hardware and software subsystem. This system adopted NI PCI-6014 data acquisition card and PC to realize the hardware function and adopted the NI's LabVIEW graphical programming language to realize the software function. Both the hardware and software used the same company's products can reduce the interference caused by incompatible.At last, adopted the digital signal generator to generate the signal which is in need. And then, to prove the system's validity and reliability, sent it to the instrument virtual test system.This system can test the function and precision of the intelligent instrument's speedometer, revolution meter, fuel gauge, coolant temperature gauge, and oil pressure. Users only need to input the initialization parameters and send the sensor's signal to the virtual test system, then the system can realize the function of data analysis, processing, display, storage and so on, and can judge the corresponding instruments qualified or not. This test system has beautiful and convenient human-computer interaction main interface, convenient and quick operation interface, intuitive data display interface, which can make the user's operation much easier. To realize the the test modules'function, adopted"state machine"model which can make each modules run independently, not interfere with each other. Besides, this test system has good portability, convenient upgrade features.
