Concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge nowadays has been considered more and more important by world bridge engineering for its solely appealing design, easy construction and long-span superiority. With concrete-filled steel tube arch being widely used in bridge construction, this arch is forging ahead into diversification, complication and variation to meet the needs of the townscape, which makes the arch bridges have different shapes and various colors.The paper, with an engineering background of flying swallow profiled concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge design, discusses the new-style arch bridge design which appears both graceful in figure and historic in culture trait, is designed by filtering bridge type scheme, drawing bridge structure,formulating bridge construction, analyzing bridge static force and designging aseismatic damper etc. It finally fixes every design parameter and solves problems in the process of designing the bridge by adoption of the international general-purpose finite element analysis program SAP2000 Nonlinear and commercial finite element program Midas/Civil etc., through a variety of calculation comparison, multiple spatial structure models simulation and some operating mode structure reation analysis, and with repeated analog computation and relative analysis. All of these expedite the bridge-building process, as well as gathering experiences for the future flying swallow arch bridge.Explicating the whole process of flying swallow profiled concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge design with both pictures and texts, this paper helps to other congeneric bridges, especially to flying swallow arch bridge design.
