This paper firstly introduces the development history and trend of DCS in thermal power plants, and domestic simulation technology development present situation of DCS, then introduces the simulation object 500MW thermal power units made in Czech and control system, expounds the basic situation of power units and DCS hardware situation, and describes the characteristics of the Symphony INFI9 system .Secondly, we can classify DCS simulation methods and virtual DCS technology meticulously from many styles, and expound the careful classification the advantages and disadvantages of different ways, analyzes the key technology of virtual DCS, summarized in the domestic power different DCS product application of simulator in China. With 500MW thermal power units made in Czech as research object, introduces in detail specific development processes and development process flow chart of the simulator which based on virtual DCS technology, with the detailed project implementation steps introduces development in the process of collection of data, the database establishment, the control strategy of the configuration, monitor screen, model and data communications aspects of specific development processes and precautions, by way of illustration introduces the simulator in the design and development of specific implementation process and kinds of problems faced, finally discussed and summarized the corresponding solutions, in order to achieve the goal to engage in real application . Then take the LN simulation platform as the machine furnace model, with concrete illustrations presents boiler, turbine model, and the important part of the parameters set, model according to the original power plant equipment running status and a parameter, to do adjust accordingly.Finally on the virtual DCS technology in the simulator development projects are summarized, put forward simulation of virtual DCS technology advanced functions can be realized, prospect the development direction and the further research in this field.
