Study On Plant Culture Of Chengdu Traditional Memorial Garden

Sichuan basin, known as "The area rich in natural resources and fertile soil", not only due to superior natural scenery conditions, but also benefit from its long history and rich cultural deposits. Chengdu traditional memorial garden born here in the integration of Chinese classical gardens, still has a unique style and distinct personality, Unfortunately research in this area is rare, especially the study in combination of plants and cultures as landscape material structure is even less.Based on my strong interest in the traditional memorial garden and limited expertise,I research the plant cultures of traditional memorial garden in Chengdu and surrounding areas from the earliest gardening activities to 1840 garden constructions.This study is not only a positive complement of garden cultures in the traditional Memorial Garden, but also an innovation of garden plants studies, I hope this research not only can enhance a deep understanding to these gardens, but also the role of plants in the composition of garden space and creating atmosphere will have been further enhanced,and show the plant charm in Sichuan garden.Paper briefly describes the development traces of the traditional memorial garden plants in Chengdu from the pre-Qin Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The garden plant gradually developed from the beginning of the food for the purpose to the drawing and aesthetic realm, and its feature is precisely from the great charm of plant cultures, so creating beautiful sceneries. Then, in order to facilitate in-depth research, Chendu traditional memorial garden will be divided into four types from the identity characteristic of the main commemorative target.namely from the identity of the main characteristics of commemorative, memorial garden will be divided in Chengdu for the traditional four types, namely the garden of commemorate the king, the minister, the refined scholars and the person with special identity, Then the paper explained the plant cultures from the four categories of garden based on the impact on the plant from the farming culture,historical background,confucianism,religion,fengshui,literature,painting,folk culture and so on. (the subject is the realization of harmony between man and nature).Because access to historical data is difficult, in addition to most gardens repaired several times in the development process, and now the garden plant layout scenarios is not original created by the owner, it is difficult to grasp the real idea of the master of garden, so I open a new path, focusing on the choice of plants from the garden to explore the planting culture, because we can see the garden owners'love to certain plant species from poetries and paitings,while the methods and forms of planting are in the integration of Sichuan garden, no further explanation. Finally, the paper analyzed the exchange and integration of planting between the traditional and modern commemorative garden with examples.then summed up the serious deficiency for the traditional garden planting cultures in the contemporary memorial garden and gave the recommendations.It is necessary to inherit traditional cultures,learn from each other,but also creative and the garden planting will achieve the highest state feeling and setting happily blended.
