This article presents research and test findings of refinery LPG as auto fuel on the basis of LPG vehicle features and auto-gas properties. Vehicle control systems were modified to tailor to LPG properties. Compatibility of fuel and engine was therefore enhanced and stability and economy of auto-gas were ensured.In developing wide auto-gas market application, systematic management was planned and organized. Refinery auto-gas contributes greatly to safe Guangzhou city public transport energy supply.Starting from analysis of LPG major constituents and properties, the author introduces in detail auto-gas quality standards and relevant indicator requirements. It points out critical technical issues to be tackled in refinery auto-gas. In the process of research and development of refinery auto-gas, current Guangzhou Refinery production conditions were taken into consideration. Technical schemes for higher refining quality were developed. In order to ensure engine and fuel compatibility, numerous engine bench tests and vehicle operation tests were conducted. Engine control system parameters were also modified and optimized. Without jeopardizing public transport operation, refinery auto-gas was put into wide market application thanks to good production, supply and auto-gas use management.A few major achievements were made through this research:refinery auto-gas can be used as auto fuel with technical refining process; in developing new auto-gas, vehicle engine technical parameters need to be modified to ensure fuel and engine compatibility; new auto-gas has to be sufficiently experimented for good understanding of the fuel properties; in taking auto-gas to wide market application, management and coordination of various segments are needed to ensure smooth public transport. |
