Started from the late-1950s, China has gradually established a complete weapon system design, trial-manufacture, production and testing base, set up and condensed a high quality development team. For 50 years, China has provided many kinds of weapon system successively for the army. With the continuous improvement of national defense on the performance requirements of the weapon system, development and production task of weapon system is getting more and more arduous. As a comprehensive assessment means of weapon system performance under bad conditions, field tests has become more and more difficult. How to further develop and perfect safety management in order to reduce the accident rate testing of field tests on the existing basis has become the urgent topic which the development of weapon system needs to study and solve.Based on the modern risk management theory, it studies the application of process thought and process method used in the course of weapon system field tests. Namely, with a view to process and the relation between processes, in accordance with tools of risk analysis and safety evaluation, the paper discusses how to develop safety management of weapon system field tests. In addition, based on the identification and evaluation on danger sources, the paper innovatively puts forward five measures about "process improvement" in order to improve pertinence and validity of safety management of weapon system field tests.
