| China is an earthquake-prone country. It just takes 7 percent of total land area of the world, while suffers from 33 percent of land seismic. The earthquake causes the significant losses for people and property, especially for the recent two strong earthquakes, the Wenchuan 8.0Ms earthquake and the Yushu 7.1 Ms earthquake. Once an earthquake occurs, the road systems play an important role in earthquake relief works, while they are often subjected to serious damage during the earthquake. Therefore, the researches on how to diagnosis the damage level of road facilities in short time and to take the measures to recovery quickly are related to the efficiency of earthquake relief and recovery.Based on a great deal of investigations, the damage causes of road facilities suffered from earthquake are investigated through adopting the mathematic statistic method and field investigation. In this paper, the classification and grading of damage based on the damage level are developed utilizing the diagram analysis according to the present specification. Then the classification of recovery stages, including the quick recovery, guarantee recovery, and reconstruction, are presented firstly in this paper based on the different tasks. The researches in this paper will be of great significance to the earthquake relief, recovery and seismic design of road in strong earthquake area.In this paper, the specific content and the results as follow:Firstly, the techniques of quick assessment, quick recovery and guarantee recovery are explored through the field investigation. The objects are to ensure recovery in short time, save more lives and reduce the property loss.Secondly, analysis the damage mechanism of highway facilities, explore the road facilities recovery technique, restored the highway damaged facilities during short period with low costs, provide transport security for the restoration and reconstruction of the earthquake-stricken areas.Thirdly, through the use of specific examples of projects, verify the correctness of technique described in this article, provide reference for future repair and construction of road in high-intensity earthquake zone. |
