Currently, the railway rolling stock is developing towards high speed and heavy load. Thus, the present large-scale road maintenance machinery is under new pressure no matter in the type, quantity or in performance and operating efficiency. Continuous tamping machine is mainly used for lining, copy flat, stamping, etc along the range line. At present, similar products have been developed. However, the homemade Continuous tamping machine does not perform well when use it. For example, the speed is unstable and the failure rate is high. Therefore, it is meaningful to do research on the hydraulic system of the Continuous tamping machine. The main content includes:1. The platform of the driving system of the Continuous tamping machine in home and abroad was introduced. According to the problems of instability in running and frequent axle broking existed in homemade Continuous tamping machine, detailed calculation and simulation analysis on the construction and hydraulic system of the job cart were done. The results show that the problems above are caused by the unreasonable layout of the overall structure and the improper coupling relationship between the driving motor and the cylinder.2. According to the structural characteristics of the this type of Continuous tamping machine, three ways which are restricting the flow of the cylinder, controlling the action time of the cylinder and separating the cylinder and the job cart were proposed. And the simulation results show that the improved system has solved the problems above.3. Four types of classical transmission were compared by analyzing the characteristics and disadvantages of the driving system of the present homemade Continuous tamping machine. And based on that, the closed hydrostatic driving system, which is simple in construction, fast in respond speed, short in acceleration time, highly efficient in working and stable, was proposed.4. Detailed calculation and simulation analysis on the acceleration mode choose and the acceleration process of the driving system of the main engine and the job cart has been done. And the AMEsim simulation model was established. The results show that the Continuous tamping machine with the closed hydrostatic driving system is fast in respond speed, high in the performance of acceleration, highly efficient in working, etc. It broke out the bottleneck that the technology of hydrostatic drive is not suitable for the vehicles in high speed.5. The experiment on the improved homemade Continuous tamping machine was carried on. And the experiment verified that the improved case of the prototype is reasonable.
