Biorefining is the conversion of biomass materials, such as agricultural waste, plant-based starch and wood fiber and other renewables into products including various of chemicals, fuels and bio-based materials. That provides a sustainable development route to solve the shortage of resources and environment. Scholars both at home and abroad are interested in it, moreover, Changchun Dacheng Group uses corn as raw material to produce corn biological chemical alcohol. Bio-chemical polyols is the emerging field and the focus of attention of bio-refining industry, its use of catalytic cracking technology to cellulose, starch, sugar-hydroxy long-chain into a C2-C4 short carbon chain diols and polyols. By using production technology of Bio-chemical corn polyols, corn starch could be hydrolyzed into sorbitol, which could be turned into ethylene glycol, propylene glycol,1,4-butanediol and other chemical products by hydrocrack. In this paper, we used corn biological chemical alcohol to prepare unsaturated polyester resin, and studied on the application of by-conduct which comes from corn biological chemical alcohol. The purpose is increasing the added value of the products, and solving the problem in the process of enterprise production. This paper studied on the preparation of unsaturated polyester resin which uses corn biological chemical alcohol as raw material. The reaction time of different synthesis, the accelerator, curing agent and styrene content were investigated on the product properties. The result showed that the two-step method is superior to the one step, meanwhile, when the accelerator is 2%, curing agent is 2.5%and styrene content is 35%, the product can achieve the best properties.Distillation residues of corn biological chemical alcohol contains some mixed glycol, so we used complexation extraction and molecular distillation technology to extract and separate the mixed glycol. Studing on the ratio between complexing and extracting agent, and the impact of temperature and time on the outcome of extraction, the findings showed through complexation extraction and the technique of molecular distillation, when vaporized, we obtained the relatively separated mixed dihydroxy alcohol and can reach 93.275%.Distillation residues of corn biological chemical alcohol contain glycol and polyols which can make hydrogen bond with the hydroxyl group of starch. Under this condition, using distillation residues and glycerol as plasticizers to prepare thermoplastic starch (TPS). The weight ratio between distillation residues and glycerol was investigated, as well as the temperature and rotating speed. The result indicates that with the addition of mixed plasticizers, the structure of TPS was changed obviously which transforms from a crystal state to an amorphous state. TPS shows the better properties when the weight ratio between distillation and glycerol is 3:7, temperature is 120℃and speed is 50rpm.Based on the corn biological chemical alcohol and the distillation residues as raw material, this paper studied on the application of corn biological chemical alcohol on unsaturated polyester resin, meanwhile, extraction and separation alcohol from the distillation residues and using the distillation residues to prepare TPS. It is a good value for enterprises and can increase competitiveness of the enterprises in society.
