Research On The Pattern Management System For Man's Clothing

In recent years, with the digital technology has been gradually introduced to thegarment production, garment production mode mainly in this way of little batch andvarious kinds, which put forward higher requirements for the rapid response ability ofthe enterprise. As the basis of garments production, garment pattern has the significanteffect to the garment production. So, the research on the application of the digitaltechnology in pattern management has become a very important issue.In this paper, the common methods used in the pattern management nowadays havebeen listed, and their advantages and disadvantages have also been deeply analyzed.Then combined with the actual demand of the enterprise, the framework and thefunctions of the Pattern Management System have been determined. Based on theenumeration of the common classification of men's clothing and the summarization ofthe characteristics of men's clothing design, the classification method of pattern for thePattern Management System has been determined. In addition, concrete analysis of theelements in men's clothing design has also been made from both sides of the outsideprofile and the detailed structure, and then the control elements for the pattern havefinally been determined. Moreover, on the above basis, the detailed code rules for themen's pattern have been formulated. And the code combined with meaning code andmeaningless code.Combined with the demand of pattern management for clothing enterprise, thispaper developed the Pattern Management System of men's clothing by the use of VisualBasic6.0and the Access database system. The system has been divided into sevenmodules due to its function: system login module, pattern editor module, patternretrieval module, pattern code modules, user management module, CAD software connection management module and CAD software call module. The system can readand display model specification table directly when connected with the CAD software.This research solved the problem of digital pattern management on the basis of therequirement of the enterprise. With the Pattern Management System, digital pattern canbe added, quick searched, accurately access and called by CAD. The PatternManagement System can not only extend the life of the paper pattern, but also reducethe waste of manpower and material resource, what's more, it can improve theefficiency of the pattern production and enhance the ability of garment rapid productionas well.
