Tin is a metal which is the first discovered and used. It plays an important part in human's life and production. Tin industry develops rapidly in our country after 50s of 20th century. The production and consumption of the tin grows rapidly. The tin resource is less and less, the grade is getting lower and lower with yeas of the development and utilization. The grade of the crude ore is even lower than the tin tailings in some place. The recycling of the tailings has becoming an important part in the field of mineral processing.Cassiterite is recovered difficultly by the way of gravity concentration and froth flotation because most of the tin exist in fine particles. The hang- vibrate of cone concentrator is a new fine particle preparation equipment which is based on Bagnold theory. We find that hang- vibrate of cone concentrator can recover the cassiterite whose particles range from 0.074mm to 0.019mm in the experiment. So, the hang- vibrate of cone concentrator is new fine gravity machine who has the broad application prospect.We use the tailing of slime multi-line table concentrator of dachang guangxi in libratory experiments. The main gangue mineral is quartz. The valuable element is tin and its grade is 0.18%. Gravity separation is appropriate for the two minerals because they have a marked difference in specific gravity.The cassiterite tin is distributed in all of the particle levels. It is mainly in the fraction range of 0.074mm-0.019mm by analyzing the run of mine, and its occupation ratio is 55.52%. The hang- vibrate of cone concentrator can recover the cassiterite in this fraction effectively. The grade of the cassiterite concentrate we got at last is 1.73%,and its recovery is 45.54% by adjusting the parameters of the hang and vibrate of concentrator. The object of the study is the tailing in the tailing reservoir in the commercial tests. The main gangue mineral is quartz, and its occupation ratio is 40.95%.The tin has the high recycling value because of its high grade. It is mainly in the fraction range of 0.074mm-0.019mm by analyzing the run of mine, and its occupation ratio is 58.84%. The tin concertion's grade is 2.04%,its enrichment ratio is 6.78,and its recovery is 47.50% while the rotation period is 240s/r, the virbration frequency is 198r/min,the handling capacity is18t/d. The recovery ratio is 76.72% in 0.074mm-0.037mm and 71.85% in 0.037mm-0.019mm through the elutriation tests of the tin concentration. The recovery ratio is 9.68% in+0.074mm and 23.02% in-0.019mm. Therefore, the appropriate classification is essential in order to ensure the hang-vibrate of cone concentrator operates efficiently. In conclusion, the hang-vibrate of cone concentrator is a high effiencicy equipment recoving the valuable mineral fines with high concentration ratio and stable operation.It has the broad application prospect.
