Virtual simulation provides new methods and tools for the operation of injection molding machine and the training of injection molding process. Based on the injection molding simulation system, this paper carries an in-depth research on the modeling methods of the system, and greatly improves the simulation degree of virtual injection molding machine system, which can enhance the sense of immersion in virtual environment.Three-dimensional modeling of injection molding machine and injection mold is the basis of the virtual injection molding machine system, and it mostly comprises the following respects: the geometric model establishment, surface material and texture treatment, the fabrication of three dimension animation, and other operations, such as model simplification, mesh optimization and file format conversion. This paper analyses the advantages and disadvantages of UG software, Milkshape 3D software and 3DS MAX software in three-dimensional modeling and animation. In the system modeling, injection molding machines and injection molds are modeled with UG, surface material and texture and three-dimensional animation are made by Milkshape 3D, and MS3D file format is took as the storage format of three-dimensional model.However, the texture mapping of Milkshape 3D is only qualified for simple mapping on models. In order to get better simulation results, 3DS MAX software has been chosen to optimize the grid and texture mapping of models in this paper. Based on the study of the method of texture mapping of 3DS MAX software, Unwrap UVW has been chosen to solve texture deformation problems of the original models, and it greatly improves the simulation degree of the system. The illumination model of the system is also analyzed in this paper, the parameters of the illumination is regulated according to the rendering in 3DS MAX, and better lighting effect is gained.The study on simulation modeling of the oil-way is necessary for the injection molding simulation system, because it is the key to explain the motions of the injection machine parts. This paper analyses the characteristics and difficulties of the modeling of the oil-way, and proposes the solution that using lofting, skinned mesh, inverse kinematics to model the oil-way and its animation, which effectively solves the problems related to oil-way modeling, and greatly improves the system's learning function.
