Depending on the advantage of the pellets in iron-smelting industry, pellets become an important component of production in iron-smelting industry. Pellet quality will affect the process indicators of iron, And the important index of evaluating pellets'quality is ball size. The traditional ball size detection methods exist many deficiencies, which feedback is not timely, not quickly adjust the production of pelles is the main one. With the rapid development of the embedded technology, based on image processing pelletizing granularity of on-line detection system can be achieved.With the development of the embedded technology, with its small size, high reliability, low cost characteristics and so on, the embedded technology applied to all areas of production and life. Based on DM6446 this paper researched pelletizing granularity of on-line detection of embedded system and make it play an important role in pellets production. The mainly work of this paper is firstly analyzing the structure and performance characteristics of DM6446, understanding the advantage of DM6446 in the field of image processing, and then studied the embedded system construction process, which is mainly about BootLoader problems including the process of building for U-Boot bootloader and cross-programming environment, making Linux and Windows system be able to communicate. After applied image processing to remove image noise, and detectived the pellet image edge, then completed the pellet size of the detection process.
