In recent years, the electric utility industry is developing rapidly in China, the market demand of aluminum alloy round bar and the quality requirements of products will increase. Using advanced, mature and reliable production equipment, using advanced continuous casting and rolling technology, and developing various aluminum alloy bar are a popular trendency. Currently, the most common equipment for producting industrial poles and wires is Aluminum Rod Continuous Casting and Rolling. The overall level of domestic Continuous Casting and Rolling Lines is lower. Most production lines were put into operation before the 90's in last century, so the level of the equipments is not high, and production and quality of the products is low. This has been unable to meet the market requirements of the round aluminum pole, so transforming technology of the lines is necessary.The contents of the study are based on the project "Improving and designing of Aluminum Rod Continuous Casting and Rolling". This article mainly researches and designs a control system for Aluminum Rod Continuous Casting and Rolling. It includes optimal designs of the liquid level control system of Continuous Casting part and the driving actuator of Continuous Rolling part.The paper designs the mould level control system of Continuous Caster, the accuracy of the mould level control system not only affects the quality of the Aluminium Ingot, but also has an effect on the quality of the Aluminium poles rolled by Continuous Rolling. The article has designed a structure of the mould level control system, and has selected types for the testing, control and actuator of the mould level control system combining with the features of high-temperature aluminium liquid. The article briefly introduces the traditional PID algorithm and fuzzy algorithm, and compares the features between them. Considering nonlinear features of stopper near the ingate in Continuous Casting part, the article designs a fuzzy PID algorithm which has better robustness and application for the mould. The paper compares the control effects of different algorithms. And the results verify that the fuzzy PID algorithm has advantages, such as high precision of control, good robustness.In the part of Continuous Rolling, the paper compares the actuator of domestic Continuous Rolling with the foreigner. In this project, the Continuous Rolling line is composed of one man-sized DC motor and gears. The whole system is huge, complex, high cost of transmission gear box, hard adjustment of powerbudget of every chassis and high loss factor. So keeping the shape of ostioles and the speed of contiguous rolls constant. and keeping the cost lower than before, we change the old actuator to the systerm direct driving by motors. After the change, the control problem changes to the control of motors. The paper researches the control of motors after improving. It introduces direct torque control (DTC) of the AC motor and researches the property of multirate direct torque control. Because of changing the gear driving to direct motor driving, we have to consider the synchronization control of the motors. So the paper researches the synchronization control of the motors, compares different strategies which are used widely now, and builds up models and simulations for chosen strategies.
