Considering lapping tool thickness,the paper discusses the theory of bending of quadratic and higher paraboloid lapping tool.According to real bus line equation of the surface to be machined, neutral layer curve equation is established;The mathematical model for lapping tool bending is rebuilt by mechanics and mathematics; The course of shaping parabola curve under different load based on bending theory is discussed and the width expressions of the lapping tool under different conditions are inferred. Specific examples analysises indicate that the method is not fit for lapping cubic standard paraboloid parts.The experiment of lapping tool bended has indicated that lapping tool has a higher precision and the average error achieves 0.0462mm; The experiment of lapping the metal work-piece indicates that solid abrasive lapping tool on lapping paraboloid work-piece has a higher precision and the average error to achieve 0.0176mm; The experiment of lapping the plastic work-piece indicates that emery paper on lapping paraboloid work-piece has an average error to achieve 0.0327mm. The error that has been decreased indicates that lapping paraboloid based on bending shape theory may achieve a higher precision after considering lapping tool thickness.
