Combined with 2004 ~ 2008 datas that the same team recorded, the author analysed the kestrels bred by artificial nest boxes in Jilin Zuojia nature reserve sample with SPSS from March to July in 2009 ~ 2010. The Using the kestrels as the research object, and hanging artificially nest box as the research means, the author take notes of the kestrels'nest material information and the habitat information neighbouring the nest site such as the tree height, the shrubs height, trees density etc.The performance that kestrels use the same nest boxes, namely the nest site selection problems, is different as the time is different. The same nest box, only one year occupied by kestrels is eighteen nest, two years is eight nests, three years is eleven nests, four years is three nests, five years is three nests, six years is two nests, seven years is one nest. Its success reproductive proportion is higher than the whole population. Especially the same nest box occupied four and seven years by kestrels, its success reproductive proportion is as much as 100% and 85.71% respectively. About the nest site selection, the kestrels like to choose the same species, or other animal's nest boxes as its breeding nest. So the kestrels use same reproductive nest boxes, other species of animal breeding nest boxes, without any breeding record nest box, nest used times is respectively 47, 12, 39. On the reproductive success, the kestrels using the kestrels breeding record nest boxes, other species animal recorded breeding nest boxes, without any breeding record nest boxes, is also markedly different, respectively 68.09%, 43.59% and 16.67%.On the kestrels nest site choice, each habitat performance index is different with the control. Among them, the trees, shrubs, and the arbor density have significant difference with the control group(p < 0.05) in the nest tree ten meters radius circle. The comparison results between crown density and suspension height showed that there is no obvious difference with the control group.
