The winter waterbirds of seven habitat in the west Xinghua Bay Fujian Province was studied From 2009 to 2011.Waterbirds species composition and their faunal were analyzed,and analyzed the waterbirds diversity, ecological characteristics diversity and habitat Sinilarity. The characteristics of waterbirds'habitat selection was discussed. Finally, protection advice was List.46 waterbirds species were recorded during the study period in the seven areas. These bird belong to 12 families 8 orders.Among them,34 species were paleartics,9 species were oriental and 3 species were wide distributive species; 27 species were wintering,5 species were resident,5 species were summering and 9 species were traveling; There are 1 species belong to national conservation bird,32 species were migrant protectiong both by Chinese and Japanese,18 species were migrant protectiong both by Chinese and Australia.Saunders's Gull, Black-faced Spoonbill and Pied Avocet were present in internationally important numbers. In 2011, the quantity of waterbirds was 21907, meet one of the international important wetlands standards. So, the west of XingHua bay is very important region on migratory birds.From October 2010 to January 2011, The result showed that the migratory waterbirds arrived as early as October, and the number of species increased rapidly. Between November 2010 and January 2011, the waterbirds maintained at 23 species, but the population increased from 4386 to 15,221 rapidly, reached a higher peak. Most waterbirds distributed in the aquaculture farms and tidal flat aquaculture farms.5981 waterbirds, belonged to 33 species, were found in the aquaculture farms,15256 waterbirds, belonged to 27 species, were found in the tidal flat aquaculture farms. Only 400 waterbirds, belonged to 13 species, were found in farmland.2999 waterbirds, belonged to 23 species, were found in the aquaculture farms at high tide,15,003 waterbirds, belonged to 24 species, were found in the tidal flat aquaculture farms, tidal flat aquaculture and aquaculture farms at mid-low tide.The habitats Estuary and mudflat utilization zones sinilarity index were highest, it was 0.93. Farmland zones and other types of habitats' sinilarity were lower, the highest value is only 0.52. The west of Xinghua Bay, waterbirds diversity index is 3.09. Evenness index fluctuations in the largest habitat is the estuary, the smallest habitat is the beach cofferdam zones. G-F index of the habitat in general, the highest habitat is Farmland zones, to 0.602. The intertidal marshes and tidal cofferdam zones have higher diversity, but the G-F index were negative. Reasons mainly maybe the two habitat have more single species of waterbirds than other habitats, the contribution of the F index is 0. Finally, Proposed to strengthen management the Xinghua Bay wetland, establish wetland park or establish regulatory regions of high tide. Community must to be educated on Wildlife conservation, in order to avoid threatening the survival of the birds.
